September Challenge- Autumn Colours

Oh my Gosh! or words to that effect!! I haven't posted anything on my blog since June!! I have no idea where the summer has  gone, but the lure of the sun, workshops, the shop, and general day to day workings of running your own company have obviously taken their toll!
Over on the Creative Team blog we have a new challenge where Autumn colours are prevailing!

I am back into my alcohol inks, and always love the effects they give. Here is a sneaky peek of my piece.

Do check out the rest of the team's creations, and we would love to see yours too!

Have a creative day

It's a Floral Fusion!

Last Month I taught a class using the meltpot, and a new substrate , which will be available soon from The Artistic Stamper.
I had a lot of fun creating this , and used colours that I don't normally use, spring colours!
I will be teaching a smaller version of this at Christine Emberson's shop
Hope and Chances on 6th July, and this particular version at a retreat held by
 Ali-Crafts on 7th September.

My saddest moment this week is that Ranger have decided to discontinue the meltpot, and I, for one, am more than disappointed as I have been creating with it ever since Suze Weinberg introduced it, and that seems like forever! I remember the day I got my first one, after having seen it being demonstrated by Suze at CHA ( or HIA as it was called then) and a friend of mine and I ordered one each in from the USA and used a transformer to get it to work. I still have that same pot!!
It is without doubt my favourite tool for crafting, other than the Heat-it gun!! I promise that I will continue to teach it as long as people still have a meltpot, and if you don't then, we still have a couple or two in the shop.

Anyway, I have digressed as always and here are some photos of my Floral Fusion.

White Wedding...

Last month the daughter of a friend of mine got married in Australia. I wish I could have gone to the land of plenty, but it wasn't to be.... However I made a card for Rowan and Steve. (Yes! I made another card!) and was rather chuffed with it. I used Grunge paste mixed with Snowflake Fresco Paint, and scraped through a Crafter's Workshop stencil. Then I used Dina Wakley's Spilled Hearts dabbed with Distress Paint for an accent.

Thank you for looking and have a creative day

Flying your way soon....

Hello ! I love it when I create new stamps, and the designs are made into rubber! Finally flat drawings are 3D and these little beauties from Neil Walker and Katy Leitch are no exception!
There are 6 new designs from Katy and 8 from Neil, all very versatile.
Just to tease you here is a little tag I made with 2 of the designs, using the new Archival inkpads from Wendy Vecchi, and Dylusions sprays on Dyan's very versatile blank inkpad.

The new stamps will be available from Friday 2nd May, and if you are popping by the shop, then you can see them in the flesh!
Pop back tomorrow for another sneak peek :)
Have a creative day

It's a card!!

I am renowned for never making cards! They just don't come into my remit for creating, but occasionally, I will create one. Often I will have an idea and the whole thing turns out completely different. On this occasion, I made one for the class I taught, and another one in the class, which I preferred!
I used The Crafter's Workshop stencil for the background, Tim's Tattered Floral die, and one of The Artistic Stamper butterflies stamped onto craft plastic and attached to a curly wire to create it. Lots of Distress Paint, and a little Texture Paste mixed with Distress Paint,  through a stencil for the words.
This was the card I made and gave to my mum for Mothering Sunday! I think she liked it! Lol

Have a card making day!! I am off to make a wedding card!

Graphic 45 workshop at THe Artistic Stamper

On Saturday I taught a class that I did at CHA with Graphic 45. I love the engineering that goes into Graphic 45's workshops, and this one was no exception! Originally I did the class in the USA with the Couture Papers, but decided to teach this class with Botanical Tea, and extra papers from Secret Garden.

I loved that everyone's book was so different. I forgot to take pictures of my finished book from the outside, so must do that!! Here are Val's and Rosemary's so different books, and oh even better I love that I always learn something new at every class I teach!! This time, it was what happens when you heat different ribbons! check out the wrinkled effect on Val's book ribbon! Amazing!

Upside down, backwards, or inside out

Hi! Welcome to one of my rare posts on this neglected blog of mine! What's the hardest thing you have to do creatively? One of mine is when facing a blank page with not an idea in my head, especially when journaling. I have just started a new journal given to me, and believe me, I have lots of blank books, I just seem to collect them! I started inside with this page and have started a couple more ...it is going to be an alphabet journal ( inspired by Joanne Sharpe) .

So I thought  , I am making time to create the  cover which was a blank canvas type. I started off with the new Crafters Workshop stencils and some Cosmic Shimmer Clear Texture Paste. I carefully spread the paste which I had mixed with some mica powder paints that we used to sell, through the stencil , on both the front and the back cover. Loved it , beautiful , let it dry, and sprayed on top with Dylusions sprays and blotted off. Then I closed  the book and looked at it, as you do ....oops major #fail!! I had made the cover upside down and back to front! Not a happy bunny:(  So back to drawing board . I could use it backwards or re bind it..not really an option...(I am kind of has to be the right way kinda girl) or redo the cover . So back out with the stencils and the paste, and add more , this time the right round! One cover..with a little bit of a blip!

Question is? can you spot the mistakes....lol
